What is
CONNECT, GROW, GO?
These
three words sum up what Harvest Community Church is all about.
I sincerely believe that the more we begin to understand
and know God, the more our lives are going to be impacted.
When I talk about understanding and knowing God, I'm not
talking about a warm feeling in our Spirit. Truth be told…we
all have certain presuppositional beliefs about this world,
humanity, and God. These simple beliefs are usually formed
through personal experience, both positive and negative. As
a result, we are usually skewed in our basic understanding
of the truth.
Truth about God is found in Scripture and
then can be reinforced by experience. Therefore, our desire
at Harvest is to connect people
with the truth of Scripture and the truth of God as revealed
in Scripture. When we come face to face with the truth of God,
our lives will never be the same. It's not enough to sit
on the sideline and think spiritual growth is going to happen
by mere osmosis. Jesus has called all of us to follow his example.
In other words, we are to become disciples of Jesus. To do
this we must give ourselves to the necessary growth process
and journey that God has for us. It's not just enough to believe,
we must learn to put belief into action.
This is where the go comes
into play! Knowledge is great…but
at some point we have to put that knowledge to work. As people
who know the good news of Jesus Christ we are called and commanded
to take that message into the world. It's our desire at Harvest
to go into the world by serving our neighbors, our community,
our country, our world, and the mission of Jesus!
We invite you to come and join us on this
journey as we seek to CONNECT our selves to God, GROW in our
understanding of the truth, and to GO into the world with the
message of Jesus, a message of love and hope!
